TLIC4006 Drive multi-combination vehicle 

Description:

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to drive a multi-combination vehicle safely, including maintaining systematic and efficient control of all vehicle functions, coupling and uncoupling dollies, monitoring traffic and road conditions, managing vehicle condition and performance, and effectively managing hazardous situations.

Driving must be carried out in accordance with Queensland Road and traffic authority license requirements and regulations for multi-combination vehicles.Driving is performed with limited supervision, and duty of care responsibility for self and others in achieving the prescribed outcomes.

Entry Requirements

Although the training package does not stipulate any entry requirements for this training product.

Atlantic College has the following entry requirements in place for prospective learners:

• be at least 18 years of age.

• participate in a course entry interview (pre-enrolment review) to determine suitability of the course and additional support needs – Refer to Pre-training Review section on the following page

•undertake Atlantic College’s ACSF LLND Assessment – Refer to LLND section on the following page

•must not be a primary applicant and a student visa holder (sub class 500)

•must have held your heavy rigid (class HR) or heavy combination (class HC) license for at least 1 year unless an exemption letter is provided by QLD Government’s Transport and Mains Roads department.

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements of a heavy vehicle can be very demanding, and it is expected that the prospective learners will have reasonable level of fitness to perform the following tasks:

• Constant hand function (fine and gross) and lifting waist to overhead and carrying up to 2kg

• Frequent standing, forward reaching, overhead reaching and static neck postures.

• Frequent lifting from floor to overhead and carrying from 2kg to 15kg.

• Frequent pushing and pulling.

Learners are required to discuss their capabilities in the above areas and any concerns they have during the entry interview.
